Tiffin Dancing Girl Pink Satin Glass Figural Powder Jar

Tiffin Dancing Girl Pink Satin Glass Figural Powder Jar
SKU:

Dancing Girl aka Dancing Lady was produced by Tiffin - US Glass from 1925 -1936 as part of a Depression era vanity set. This figural glass powder jar is referenced in Bedroom & Bathroom Glassware of the Depression Years, by Whitmyer, pages 26-27, and the complete dresser set is shown on page 134, with perfume bottles and tray. (this reference also documents the differences between Dancing Girl and the more commonly found variant of this jar known as Curtsy, made by Taussant Glass)This pink satin glass figural dresser jar features a smiling young girl with uplifted face and with arms outstretched to the bouffant skirt of her ornate low cut gown. A floral shawl is draped around her arms. The top edge of the base has the characteristic rope rim that distinguishes Dancing Girl from the smooth rimmed Curtsy. Amongst other distinguishing characteristics are the fine detail seen in the feminine features and dress of Dancing Girl, lacking on Curtsy, which has a less refined finish. The jar measures almost 6.5 inches tall x 4.5 inches across the rim and is in excellent and undamaged condition.
