An Art Deco glass jar known as Pandora, and produced by Sowerby Glassworks in England during the 1920s. This covered jar was produced as a biscuit barrel ie cookie jar. The pressed pattern has a kneeling lady on all four sides, holding an object (Pandora's box?) in her outstretched hands. Her hair is short and gently curled and she wears a stippled glass robe. The jar has classic Art Deco lines and was produced in glowing green Depression era glass. Dimensions 5 1/4 x 5 1/4 x 8 inches tall. With the exception of a few small nibbles underneath the lid rim, this English glass Deco jar is excellent condition.
