An Art Nouveau theme of hummingbirds amidst roses and foliage creates an artistic effect on this pressed Consolidated Glass powder jar or puff box. The fine French crystal has a green tinged wash, with exquisite highlights when held to the light.The pressed glass pattern features embossed flower filled rose branches, and two hummingbirds on the lid, with more roses and foliage adorning the bowl and another hummingbird pressed into the center of the base. This large puff box has a diameter of 7 inches and height of approximately 3.75 inches and inner rim diameter of 5 inches. The condition is excellent with very slight mold roughness on a small are of the inner rim of the bowl.This Consolidated Glass covered dresser jar was made during the early years of the 20th century, and came in a smaller 4.5 inch diameter size as well. A variant was also made by Phoenix, in a white milk glass, at the time when they used the Consolidated molds during the Depression era.
