A collectible ceramic beer stein by Avon, commemorating steam engines, and titled "Age of The Iron Horse". The intricately detailed relief shows a variety of steam engine trains on railroads and with background trees,hills, trees, stations, tunnels, bridges and city scenes. The base of the stein lists the steam engines depicted as Penydarran RR 1804,The General 1855, Orient Express 1925 Twentieth Century 1938 and Union Pacific 1941. The pewter lid is patterned after a locomotive's wheel with a pushrod and the thumb tab is the pushrod's piston. The handle is designed to resemble an old trains' whistle.
The bottom is marked AVON Handcrafted in Brazil exclusively for Avon Products, 1982 and bears the piece number 45223453. It also has the original black and gold foil label which says made in Brazil and Ceramarte
